The area of the Foča municipality is characterized by high mountain ranges that belong to the Dinaric mountain chain.
Foča is a municipality with the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mount Maglić, 2386 meters above sea level), the only primeval forest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the largest in Europe – Perućica, which is located in the Sutjeska National Park. In this still untouched nature reserve, you can find the largest European spruce trees, Jela (63m) and Omore (65m), as well as prime specimens of beech trees, and the Skakavac waterfall (73m high), which is undoubtedly the most beautiful waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bounded to the southeast by the unique Tara River Canyon, the deepest in Europe and second in the world, only behind the Grand Canyon in the USA. Mount Zelengora rightfully bears the title of the most beautiful and gentle mountain of the Dinarides, with 8 glacial lakes.

The Rajska Rijeka Camp is located in an ideal spot for rafting – the last 15 kilometers of the Tara River, which is also the most attractive part. Our extensive experience in guiding and organizing rafting tours has placed us at the top of the list of rafting camps in the area. We are equipped with state-of-the-art rafting gear, so when you arrive, all you need to bring is a good mood and perhaps a phone with a camera to capture some memorable moments.
Within the camp complex, you’ll find accommodation in various categories of rooms. The food in the restaurant is excellent and adaptable to all dietary preferences. The restaurant also has a bar that transforms into a club in the evenings, providing a fantastic opportunity for socializing, meeting new people, and relaxing while enjoying locally produced goods. In short, at our camp, you have everything you need for an extraordinary vacation with friends!
Arrival at Camp Rajska Rijeka in the afternoon. Accommodation and dinner. For dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to try freshly prepared specialties of the local cuisine (goulash, grilled dishes, pies, grilled fresh trout, desserts, etc.), enjoy the camp ambiance with gentle music and crackling fire, and relax after the journey. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, preparations for rafting begin, including equipment selection, briefing with the guide, and transportation to the starting point for the rafting adventure. This is followed by a descent along the Tara River spanning approximately 25 km, with a few stops for photography and swimming. Boats will take you to our private beach, where lunch will be served. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to try freshly prepared specialties such as veal, veal soup, desserts, etc. After some rest and relaxation, there will be socializing at the camp with music and a bonfire. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure from the camp at 9:00 am by off-road vehicle to Prijevor (1668 m), a plateau below Maglic. Along the way, visit the viewpoint in the Perućica forest (known as the gem of the Sutjeska National Park and the largest forest in Europe), offering a view of the Skakavac waterfall plunging from a height of 70m. Imagine the sight and the photos you could capture from that perspective. Next is a hike to Trnovacko Lake. The lake is situated in a beautiful mountainous environment between Maglic and Volujak and rightly deserves the epithet of the most beautiful in this area. The sight you behold at that moment is truly captivating, and along with that impression, any trace of fatigue or effort from the past few hours disappears because you realize it’s worth the effort. A huge, clear, and azure lake, whose surface mirrors the surrounding mountain range like a narcissistic mirror. A sight reminiscent of the Swiss Alps. The average temperature of the lake during the summer months, despite being at 1517 meters above sea level, is a pleasant 20 degrees Celsius and higher, allowing for all-day swimming and enjoyment despite the strong mountain sun. The trail is of moderate difficulty (300m descent and 200m ascent), with a hiking time of about 4 hours. Return to the camp around 6:00 pm. Lunch at the camp.
Weather conditions are one of the most important factors when planning a trip, especially when it comes to a rafting adventure. Since the rafting season on the Tara River starts in spring and lasts until autumn, expect mostly sunny weather and temperatures that are pleasant for rafting. Whatever time of year you choose for this kind of fun on the river, expect us to provide complete rafting equipment, especially neoprene suits and boots to maintain your body temperature. Expect sunny weather and great fun on the water because for rafting, it’s definitely always the right time.
