The Rajska Rijeka Camp is located in an ideal spot for rafting – the last 15 kilometers of the Tara River, which is also the most attractive part. Our extensive experience in guiding and organizing rafting tours has placed us at the top of the list of rafting camps in the area. We are equipped with state-of-the-art rafting gear, so when you arrive, all you need to bring is a good mood and perhaps a phone with a camera to capture some memorable moments.
Within the camp complex, you’ll find accommodation in various categories of rooms. The food in the restaurant is excellent and adaptable to all dietary preferences. The restaurant also has a bar that transforms into a club in the evenings, providing a fantastic opportunity for socializing, meeting new people, and relaxing while enjoying locally produced goods. In short, at our camp, you have everything you need for an extraordinary vacation with friends!
Arrival at Camp Rajska Rijeka in the afternoon. Accommodation and dinner. For dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to try freshly prepared local specialties (goulash, grilled dishes, pies, freshly grilled trout, urmašice, etc.) to enjoy the camp atmosphere with some light music and crackling fire, and to rest from the journey. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, preparations for rafting begin, including equipment selection, briefing with the guide, and transportation to the starting point. Then follows a descent down the Tara River for about 25 km, with several stops for photography and swimming. The journey ends at our private beach, where a freshly prepared lunch awaits, featuring specialties such as veal, beef soup, and pastries. After some rest and relaxation, guests can enjoy socializing at the camp with music and a campfire. Dinner is served before spending the night.
Breakfast is followed by a departure from the camp at 9:00 AM in off-road vehicles towards Zelengora, heading to Vrbnica. We will explore the Black and White Lakes. The Black Lake is located at around 1450 meters above sea level, a small lake full of brook trout. It is about 170 meters long and 80 meters wide, with a maximum depth of around 3 meters. The White Lake is situated about 500 meters south of the Black Lake, also at an altitude of 1450 meters. From the White Lake, the trail leads to Ljubin Grob, a mountain pass in the Zelengora mountain range, where fierce battles were fought during World War II between the combined German, Italian, and Ustasha forces against the units of the Yugoslav Partisans, known as the Battle of Sutjeska. The hiking time, including breaks, is about 2 hours, with an ascent of 520 meters in altitude. The trail is of moderate difficulty. Return to the camp around 6:00 PM. Lunch will be served at the camp.
Weather conditions are one of the most important factors to consider when planning a trip, especially for a rafting adventure. Since the rafting season on the Tara River starts in spring and lasts until autumn, expect mostly sunny weather and temperatures that are suitable for rafting. Whatever time of year you choose for this river adventure, you can expect to be provided with complete rafting equipment, especially neoprene suits and boots to maintain your body temperature. Anticipate sunny weather and excellent fun on the water because for rafting, it’s always the right time.
