The area of the Foča municipality is characterized by high mountain ranges that belong to the Dinaric mountain range.
Foča is a municipality with the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mount Maglić, 2386 meters above sea level), as well as the only primeval forest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the largest in Europe, Perućica, located in the Sutjeska National Park. In this still untouched nature reserve, you can find the largest European specimens of spruce (63 meters) and fir (65 meters), as well as impressive examples of beech trees, along with the Skakavac waterfall, which is 73 meters high and certainly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bordered on the southeast by the unique Tara River Canyon, which is the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest in the world, right after the Grand Canyon in the USA. Mount Zelengora, rightfully dubbed the most beautiful and gentlest mountain of the Dinarides, is home to eight glacial lakes.

The Rajska Rijeka Camp is located in an ideal spot for rafting – the last 15 kilometers of the Tara River, which is also the most attractive part. Our extensive experience in guiding and organizing rafting tours has placed us at the top of the list of rafting camps in the area. We are equipped with state-of-the-art rafting gear, so when you arrive, all you need to bring is a good mood and perhaps a phone with a camera to capture some memorable moments.
Within the camp complex, you’ll find accommodation in various categories of rooms. The food in the restaurant is excellent and adaptable to all dietary preferences. The restaurant also has a bar that transforms into a club in the evenings, providing a fantastic opportunity for socializing, meeting new people, and relaxing while enjoying locally produced goods. In short, at our camp, you have everything you need for an extraordinary vacation with friends!
Arrival at Camp Rajska Rijeka in the afternoon. Accommodation and dinner. For dinner, you will have the opportunity to try freshly prepared local specialties (goulash, grilled dishes, pies, grilled fresh trout, urmašice, etc.) to enjoy the ambiance of the camp with light music and crackling fire, as well as to rest from the journey. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, there will be preparations for rafting, including selecting equipment, a briefing with the guide, and transportation to the starting point. Then, the descent on the Tara River will begin, covering approximately 25 km with several stops for photography and swimming. Upon reaching our private beach, lunch will be served, featuring freshly prepared specialties such as veal, beef soup, and traditional desserts like hurmašice. Following some rest and relaxation, there will be a gathering at the camp with music and a campfire. Dinner will be served, followed by overnight stay.
Departure from the camp at 9:00 am by off-road vehicle to Dragoš saddle. Part of the road can only be tackled by off-road vehicles. Visit to the viewpoint overlooking the inner area of the forest (known as the gem of the Sutjeska National Park and the largest forest in Europe) and the enchanting Skakavac waterfall, which plunges from a height of 70m. Human hands have never had an impact on the cycle of “birth-life-death” of plants and animals in this forest. It contains a large number of trees over 300 years old, and it is believed that the forest itself is 20,000 years old. Jeep safari is ideal for such locations, as it gives you enough time to enjoy the extraordinary untouched nature and unique ambiance of the forest, as well as to capture moments with vivid photographs. After leaving the forest, there is a fifteen-minute drive to the mountain pass of Prijevor at 1668m above sea level, offering views of the surrounding mountains, including Maglic, the highest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Volujak and Zelengora. At this beautiful location, we take a break for a packed lunch and visit to the old katuns nearby. Then, we return to Tjentište and visit the monuments – the historical complex of the Battle of Sutjeska. Optionally, guests can visit the museum and swim in one of the largest pools in the Balkans. Return to the camp around 4:00 pm. Lunch at the camp.
Weather conditions are one of the most important factors when planning a trip, especially when it comes to a rafting adventure. Since the rafting season on the Tara River starts in spring and lasts until autumn, expect mostly sunny weather and temperatures that are pleasant for rafting. Whatever time of year you choose for this kind of fun on the river, expect us to provide complete rafting equipment, especially neoprene suits and boots to maintain your body temperature. Expect sunny weather and great fun on the water because for rafting, it’s definitely always the right time.
